This page explains what personal data zaur.it collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: the site does not use accounts or comments, most tools run entirely in your browser, and your email address is used only to send what you asked for.
Who is responsible
The data controller for zaur.it is Zaur Bahramov, PO Box 10048, Vinovo (TO), Italy. For any privacy question or request, write to info@zaur.it.
What is collected and why
Visiting the site
Like every web server, the server that hosts zaur.it records technical data for each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the pages, keep the site secure and limit abuse of the tools. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and are not used to identify visitors.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to understand which pages and tools are used, for example which tool was run or which cheat sheet was downloaded. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address and device information. IP addresses are anonymised and the data is not used for advertising. You can refuse or withdraw statistics consent at any time through the cookie banner and the cookie settings link on every page. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the site uses Google Consent Mode: until you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only cookieless signals without an analytics identifier, such as that a page was viewed, the browser type and your consent choice. Event-level data is kept for 2 months, the Google Analytics default. Google may process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The free cheat sheet pack
The form at the bottom of the pages asks for your email address to send you the free cheat sheet pack. Your email address, the date and the confirmation you gave are stored. It works by double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email first, and only after you confirm do you get the link to the download page. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
By ticking the box you also agree to receive occasional emails from zaur.it about new cheat sheets, tools and guides. No such emails are being sent at the moment; if they are, every one will have an unsubscribe link. Your address is never sold or shared for marketing. The list is stored in the site's own database and emails are delivered through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which processes the address only to deliver the message.
Tools
Most tools on zaur.it (encoders, formatters, generators, calculators, command builders) run entirely in your browser. What you type never leaves your device.
Network tools such as DNS lookup, reverse DNS, WHOIS, IP information, port checker and the record validators send your query (a domain name, IP address or port) to the zaur.it server, which performs the lookup against public DNS and registry services and returns the result. Queries are not stored. The IP information tool shows your own public IP and looks up its approximate location with the geolocation service ipwho.is. The DNS tools query public resolvers (Google, Cloudflare, Quad9 and OpenDNS). The website and host checker (network diagnostics) connects from the zaur.it server to the host and ports you enter, so that host sees our server’s IP address, not yours. The hostname is not stored, and the check is limited to 6 per minute and 100 per day per visitor. To prevent abuse, these tools and the Windows Event Log Analyzer count requests per visitor. The counter is stored in the site database under a keyed hash (HMAC-SHA256) of your IP address, made with a secret key that stays on the server; your IP address itself is not stored and cannot be recovered from the hash without that key. A counter holds only the number of requests and the time it resets, and expires after 60 seconds for most tools and after 24 hours for the Event Log Analyzer daily limit.
The Windows Event Log Analyzer sends the event text you submit, together with your choice of response language, from the zaur.it server to the OpenAI API (model gpt-4o-mini) for analysis. Because the request comes from our server, OpenAI does not receive your IP address. The text is not stored on zaur.it. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring; it may process it in the United States. Do not paste event data that contains personal data or information you are not allowed to share.
Emails you send
If you write to one of the zaur.it addresses, your message and address are used only to reply and are kept as long as the conversation is relevant.
Purchases
Paid products are sold through Stripe Managed Payments. The seller of record is Link (Stripe), which collects your payment details, billing address and email at checkout and processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. zaur.it never receives your card details.
From Stripe, zaur.it receives the order reference, the product and licence bought, the date, and the email address you gave at checkout. They are used for one purpose: to deliver the file and its updates, and to send the download link again if you ask for it. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your purchase does not add you to the newsletter; that only happens if you subscribe yourself.
These data are kept for the twelve months of updates plus 30 days, then deleted automatically. Invoices are kept by Link, as the seller, under its own legal obligations.
To see, correct or delete what zaur.it holds about your purchase, write to support@zaur.it. Deleting it before the twelve months end also closes your download link.
Cookies
zaur.it uses a small number of functional cookies, for example to remember your cookie choice, and statistics cookies from Google Analytics. There are no advertising cookies. The cookie policy lists them in detail. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link at the bottom of the page.
